Phil Harvey - Store Manager.

With over 47 years in the cycle trade—and as one of the founding team at Formby Cycles—Phil brings a lifetime of experience and insight to the shop floor. A big fan of Giant, he rides both a Giant road bike and a gravel setup, making the most of his time off with regular cycling holidays in Mallorca and Tenerife. When he’s not out riding, you’ll likely find Phil enjoying a quiet spot of fishing—planning his next two-wheeled adventure.

Stuart Antrobus - Head Mechanic / Sales.

With over 15 years in the cycle trade—and now in his second stint with us—Stuart is our head mechanic and the go-to guy if your bike needs expert attention. A fan of offbeat brands like Salsa and Stooge, Stuart is happiest when off the grid on one of his many trail bikes, often bikepacking and sleeping under the stars. When he's not in the saddle, you’ll still find him outdoors—hiking, surfing, or paddleboarding whenever he gets the chance.

Jon Cheshire - Admin / Sales.

Jon has been part of the Formby Cycles family for over 12 years, working across our admin and sales teams. These days, you’ll mostly find him cycling to work or enjoying a relaxed café ride on weekends—proof that cycling is for every kind of rider. His current fleet includes a Cannondale CAAD12, a Giant Contend AR, and a Kinesis Tripster AT. Off the bike, Jon’s just as passionate about music—building an ever-growing collection of Jazz, Soul & Funk records and spinning a few tracks when the mood strikes.

Matthew Purdy - Sales / Mechanic

Matt has been part of the Formby Cycles team for over three years. Splitting his time between the workshop and the shop floor, he’s always ready with practical advice and hands-on knowledge. He currently rides a Trek road bike for longer days out, but when it’s time for thrills and spills, it’s his Giant full-suspension that gets the call. Outside of cycling, Matt enjoys watching and playing football, and hitting the slopes on skiing trips whenever he can.

Anthony Prescott - Sales / Mechanic

Anthony joined the Formby Cycles team just over a year ago and splits his time between the workshop and helping customers on the shop floor. He’s currently riding a GT hardtail and a Santa Cruz full-suspension—perfect for getting out on the local trails, which he does whenever he gets the chance. When he's not on the bike, Anthony enjoys fell walking and unwinds by playing the guitar.
